I've been watching various stories from around the world about the problem of a lack of desire, low employment, or work done merely for survival — jobs people do without any enthusiasm. These people aren't poor, yet they are unhappy. I have a feeling that this middle ground is the worst possible place to be — not in terms of material wealth, but in terms of psychological health. It seems that people on the lower and higher ends of society are somehow more alive. People in the middle (not poor but not affluent), often have just enough to survive and maintain some comfort, but not enough to feel free or secure. So, it seems that if someone is on the path of being alive, it should go to more extreme ends, not stagnating and dying in the middle ground.
"Znam tvoja dela: nisi ni hladan ni vruć. Kad bi bar bio hladan ili vruć! Ali pošto si mlak, i nisi ni hladan ni vruć, ispljunuću te iz svojih usta." - reče Hrist.
